About Egham, Surrey

Egham is town in the Runnymede borough of Surrey, in the south east of England. This town is situated around 11 miles north of Woking, 20 miles east of Reading and 25 miles west south west of London.

This area is served by Egham railway station which is managed by South Western Railway. South Western operates services along the Waterloo to Reading line. Westbound there are 4 trains per hour (tph) to London Waterloo (two via Richmond and two via Brentford) and eastbound there are 2tph to Weybridge and 2tph to Reading.

The town centre has a largely pedestrianised High Street where one can find a selection of stores and small boutiques. Along this high street there is also a Tesco and a Budgens for all of one’s grocery needs. A short journey of 37 minutes via train will get you to the City of London where all of your retail and dining needs can be satisfied.

Egham is home to a large research centre for Procter & Gamble which hires over 550 people in the local area and works on fine fragrances and beauty care products for brands such as Hugo Boss, Olay and Vicks. There are many other notable employers in town including HCL AXON (an IT consultancy), Belron (the parent company of Autoglass), The EMEA Headquarters of Future Electronics and Enterprise Holdings the parent company of Enterprise Rent-a-Car.

Royal Holloway, University of London is just south of Egham and so this area is a prime location for student accommodation. This location could also be ideal for young families seeking local schooling options for their children. Primary schools in the area include Manorcroft Primary School and Englefield Green Infant School and Nurseries which can educate children from the age of 3–11. For those looking for educational options for older children there is The Magna Carta School which has been awarded specialism in Technology and ICT and includes a sixth form.
