Grantham is a market town in Lincolnshire and lies around 24 miles east of Nottingham and 28 miles south of Lincoln.
The A1 passes the town to the west connecting it directly to London and Edinburgh, whilst the A52 links it to Nottingham and the East Coast.
The Grantham railway station is on the East Coast Main Line and the main line between Peterborough and Newark North Gate. The Poacher Line to Skegness and a line to Nottingham diverge from the main line just north of Grantham. Train services run between London to Leeds, London to Hull, Liverpool to Norwich, London to Hull/Beverley and London to Lincoln/Newark/Doncaster/York/Newcastle/Edinburgh.
The local landmarks include Grantham House, a National Trust property, Grantham Guildhall, which is now the Guildhall Arts Centre, The Blue Pig, one of only four remaining Tudor buildings and the country’s only living public house sign on the Beehive Inn, a beehive of South African bees. There are also several historic houses in the nearby areas such as Belton House, Harlaxton Manor, Stoke Rochford Hall and Belvoir Castle, to name a few.
Grantham also offers plenty of outdoor pursuits such as Ponton Park Wood, the gardens and deer park of Belton House, Londonthorpe and Alma Park Woods, and Grantham Canal which runs through the Vale of Belvoir to the west of town.
