About Greenhithe, Kent

Greenhithe is a village in Kent and is located east of Dartford on the river Thames. It lies around 19 miles down the line from Charing Cross.

The A206 starts in the centre of the village and leads to the A282 and Queen Elizabeth II Bridge connecting it to Dartford, Kent, in the south and Thurrock, Essex, in the north. The Dartford Crossing is about 7 miles away and connecting the village to the M25 motorway.

Greenhithe railway station is operated by Southeaster and Thameslink. It runs trains to London Charing Cross; London Victoria via Bexleyheath; Luton via Greenwich, London Bridge, St Pancras International, St Albans City and Luton Airport; as well as to Gravesend and Rainham.

The village is circa 1.6 miles from Bluewater Shopping Centre. Bluewater is the UKs fifth-largest shopping centre and consisting of three levels it offers many clothing, homeware, travel, outdoor, lifestyle, health & beauty stores. One can also find several food outlets within. The centre holds a number of events throughout the year too. Bluewater also boasts a cinema, gravity trampoline park, pirate cove adventure park, dinotropolis, offering entertainment for the whole family. It is also surrounded by 50 acres of landscaped parkland and lakes, ideal for walks.

Darenth Country Park is on the edge of the North Downs around 3 miles outside of Greenhithe. One can admire beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and part of the park is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. There is a play area for kids and it the park is also home to the Arrow Riding Centre for the disabled.

With its good transport connections and close proximity to central London Greenhithe is an ideal commuter village for work and entertainment.
