Ilford is a town of the London Borough of Redbridge in the east of Greater London, and around 9 miles east of Charing Cross. The nearby A406 North Circular Road runs from Chiswick to Woolwich and connects various suburbs in the area including Ilford, Barking, Woodford, Finchley, Wembley and Ealing.
The town is in Travelcard Zone 4 and is served by Ilford railway station, which lies on the TfL Rail, going from London Liverpool Street to Shenfield. The station is also part of the Crossrail programme with planned trains getting into Liverpool Street in 17 minutes, Farringdon in 19 and Bond Street or Shenfield in 24 minutes.
The nearest tube stations are Gants Hill and Newbury Park, both are on the Central Line. Ilford town centre is home to a large retail area that includes the main shopping mall The Exchange Ilford. The Exchange Ilford is filled with various familiar high street brands and in the surrounding areas there’s a wide selection of restaurants and independent businesses.
